The purpose of the Rent & Utility Assistance program is to assist low-income individuals and families by stabilizing and providing support during extreme crisis situations. This program provides families with emergency financial assistance for a variety of crisis situations including:
- eviction
- forclosure
- utility shut-off notices
- emergency presciptions
How Can I Apply?
You will need to call (801) 771-4642 for a pre-qualification, and then an appointment will be scheduled. You will be told at that time what documentation you will need to provide.
The qualifications for this program are as follows:
- You must be a Davis/Morgan County resident
- You must have an eviction or shut off notice
- You must be in a crisis situation. Our guidelines allow for emergency medical situations, domestic violence, crime victims, the sole-income provider leaving the household, or loss of employment (excluding termination or voluntary leave)
- You must meet 125% of the Federal Poverty guideline (see chart below)

The Emergency Assistance program is based on a first come first serve basis. Funding is not guaranteed and is limited to one month of rent (which cannot exceed $500.00) and one month of service for utility (which cannot exceed $100.00). The limits guidelines are very strict, and we can never pay above the limit. Under the Emergency Assistance Program you can only receive services once every 18 months. We cannot pay late fees or deposits.
