Every year at Christmas time, the Community Action department in the Layton office runs a Sub-for-Santa program for low-income families throughout Davis County. We set up a store where parents can come in and shop for two brand new toys for each child aged newborn to 17 in their household. Last year, we helped over 300 families with toys and clothes for Christmas.

How Can I Apply?
The qualifications for this program are as follows:
- You must be a Davis/Morgan County resident
- You may not apply through any other Christmas program (a database is kept and shared with other agencies to avoid “double dipping”)
- You must bring in original Social Security Cards (no copies). If none are available the following are accepted: birth certificates, school records, Department of Workforce Services printout, and IRS numbers.
- You must bring in proof of income (current paycheck stubs, award letter from DWS, SSI, SSD, pension, child support, etc.)
- You must bring in photo identification for all adult members in the household
- You must fill out the application (click here to download a printable version of the application)
- You must meet 125% of the Federal Poverty guideline (see chart below)
Times for shopping must be scheduled in advance. Children are not allowed to shop with their parents. Please make other arrangements for your children, as child care is not available at the food bank while parents shop.
