Therapy

Family Connection Center's Therapy Department serves the community by providing professional therapy services at a lower cost than most counseling and therapy providers in the county.

  • Low income families may qualify for up to 12 free sessions of therapy services through grants
  • Serving children is our first priority—children who need to be seen for therapy services may increase time on the waiting list for adults
  • We are an out-patient facility, which means that clients primarily have access to therapists during regular business hours only.  We do not provide any kind of medication treatment.
  • We provide therapy services for many common mental health issues and also help people, especially children, adjust to changing situations and environments in their lives.  We typically refer clients with serious mental health issues, including substance abuse problems, to other providers who can provide adequate care and treatment.

Therapy Services
We offer the following forms of therapy:
  • Play therapy
  • Sand tray therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Marriage therapy
  • Individual therapy

For more information about the services we provide for specific mental health issues please call 801.771.4642 or send an email to jason@familyconnection4u.org.  Therapy services are provided at our East Layton Center at 875 East Hwy 193.

How Can I Apply?
To apply, please visit the Layton office at 875 East Highway 193 to request paperwork.  We hope to have paperwork available online in the near future.  Please complete the paperwork and sign all the forms before turning the paperwork back into the office.  Our therapy staff meets 3 times per month to review new files and distribute them among the staff.  You should hear from one of our staff members within two weeks of submitting your paperwork to the Layton office.

How Can I Donate?
Perhaps the greatest need in the therapy department is new or used toys for play therapy. Some of the most needed items are:

  • Action figures
  • Dolls
  • Art supplies

Our mission is to assist individuals and families to resolve the pain and suffering of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and trauma and to increase their resiliency, quality of life, and relationship functioning.

Counseling services are provided at a greatly reduced cost from most other not-for profit organizations and private therapy providers in the county.
